Registration is now open for this BCCF tradition, currently in its 30th season!
Welcome!
Singers will be shown how to create a 2-4 minute video daily, which will become our ShowTime Finale Virtual Performance Video. We will watch it together on our final day via private livestream, with family & friends. We will leave the chat open so that campers can react to the video. Of course, campers will have their own copy for posterity too! If you have a day where you cannot do your video…no worries, you will still be seen on the Finale Video unless you wish to opt out of that part of camp.
Out of Towner's Ms. G will meet with you briefly via Zoom prior to camp just to say hello and get to know you a bit! We want all campers to feel relaxed and welcomed!
What will the Finale Video look like? You will be singing in costume* with choreo too! Sometimes we will see the whole group and sometimes it will feature groupings of singers and a few solos too! Some days we may ask you to record on your phone OUTSIDE rather than in front of your computer screen. Here are some examples for you to look at:
Drive Thru Meet & Greet On Sunday July 5 at 4-5pm, Marisa & staff will greet you in a school parking lot at … TBA (as near as possible to the most campers)…to give you your music scores & costumes* and to take pictures/short videos for the Finale. All 6’ apart as per our marvellous & magnificent Dr. Bonnie.
The Daily Flow
Day 1 We will do camper intros of course, figure out secret pals, talk about how the whole camp will work online, show you how to do your daily video etc. Then we’ll do a simple Dance Call (you’ll need a little space around your computer or phone, 16 counts only!) and our Solo Sing (1 minute only!), for those who wish to participate (you can sing using backtrack! – found on YouTube)
Day 2-9
9:50am: Ms G will greet you as you sign into Zoom (instructions will be sent).
Open chat with your friends
10: Quick vocal warm up & dive into learning the Medley with Ms. G, a little learned each day: you will hear the WHOLE orchestra and singers AND you will have sectional rehearsals in ZOOM Breakout Rooms with your friends. All rooms supervised by staff.
11: Quick body warm up with Ava & then you will learn the moves for the music you just did!
12: Lunch with Ava & her Online Games (Jackbox Party Pack) or watching a musical or in your own Breakout room with friends & a leader. Have your lunch ready to go in the morning!
12:30: We will review the 4 minutes of music & choreo you learned in the morning until it is memorized. Quick individual sessions to check & help if needed. Once you’ve got it you can make your video, coach vocal solos with Marisa or acting/dance solos with Ava & Bella.
1:30: Chat time with your friends; wrap up of the day; quick peek at tomorrow’s plan, etc.
2pm: Sign Out
6pm: That’s your deadline for sending in your video to Ava at: [email protected] OR upload it to our common Google Drive (we’ll send you the link!) ~ she is a TECH WIZ and will start to create the Finale Video that very evening. You’ll be able to have a look the NEXT MORNING!!

Some days we may ask you to record on your phone OUTSIDE rather than in front of your computer screen. Here are some examples for you to look at:
- Example 1: Generic choir video, with singers in squares
- Example 2: The use of backdrops, props and costumes to make the video more exciting
- Example 3: Not this quality, but kids can film exciting solo moments like this in their backyards and we’ll edit it to make it look more exciting!
