Fiona McLachlin

Classically trained singer Ms. Fiona McLachlin holds a Bachelor of Applied Music Degree in Classical Voice Performance from Vancouver Community College as well as a Diploma and Certificate of Music in Classical Voice from Kwantlen Polytechnic University. She has studied most recently with Marisa Gaetanne and has previously studied with Dale Throness and Lorraine Reinhardt. Ms. McLachlin has recorded background and harmony vocals for Vancouver singer/songwriter Gillian Hobbs’ second EP and performed alongside her at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics and the Northwest Folklife Festival in Seattle. She has been a member of the Vancouver Bach Choir and has also sung with the Vancouver Bach Children’s Chorus and Youth Choir’s Young Adult group Sarabande.
She has taught private voice lessons and basic music theory to young children, and is currently working as a Student Services and Music Assistant at Arts Umbrella. She has been a part of the Vancouver Bach Children’s Chorus staff for the past season, working as Rehearsal Assistant to their youngest choirs the Piccolini and Piccolos and is thrilled to continue as the Piccolo Rehearsal Assistant on Thursday afternoons this season. She is also excited about her new position behind the scenes at the VBCC as Administrative Assistant. Ms. McLachlin is passionate and enthusiastic about inspiring and empowering children through arts and music education and is excited for this incredible opportunity with Ms. Gaetanne and the VoiceWorks Academy.
