Marisa enjoys teaching all ages and levels: to arrange your first lesson please contact me directly to establish your program & lesson type (professional & post-grad audition prep; teen pre-University prep; teen RCM exam or festival prep; VBCC chorister lessons; summer fun etc.). Summer lessons may be booked online after we have spoken ( I will give you the password). About West Point Grey United Church

All of Marisa's lessons are in the sanctuary of West Point Grey United Church.
This superb acoustic environment is a rare asset to singers of all ages who are performing in larger spaces.

 VoiceWorks Studio Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellation's must be made twenty-four hours in advance of lesson time.
  • Immediate rescheduling of lessons cannot be guaranteed. However Marisa allots one week at the end of each term for make-up lessons.

FALL & WINTER LESSONS Sept-June

TERM LESSONS & DATES: Marisa accepts a limited number of dedicated students for in-depth study over a ten month term. Students are usually preparing for professional auditions/engagements, Royal Conservatory of Music exams &/or Vancouver Kiwanis Festival performances. These are pre-booked and pre-paid  for the 2013/14  32 week Term. (VBCC Choristers may team up to have one or 2 lessons per month). Term lessons include two master classes: December 2013 and May 2014.

Your lesson time is booked and guaranteed for the year. Dates are below.

No lessons during the weeks of :
  • Thanksgiving Oct 14/16

  • BC School Spring Break Mar 15-23
  • May Long Weekend week May 19/21

LESSONS ON LABOUR DAY & EASTER MONDAY will be in session but can be re-scheduled later those weeks. Please request this in advance. Thank you.           

FEES & METHOD OF PAYMENT

Term fee is $2,880.00/32 lessons (includes gst). This may be paid in two installments of $1,440.00 dated Sept. 1 and Dec. 1 or in ten monthly installments of $288.00/month or $144.00 bi-weekly (post-dated cheques).

Payment is due prior to first lesson payable via Cheque or online transfer. For more information on online transfers, Click Here     

OTHER FEES

While Marisa can play accompaniments for most lessons, a pianist will be necessary at some lessons for those who are preparing for exams, festivals, auditions etc. This also makes it possible for Marisa to observe your presentation skills fully: a critical aspect of all performance. Marisa can help you arrange this as needed. Marisa has a large library of music and reference materials which is available to you. However, the procuring of appropriate scores and study materials and all event fees are the responsibility of the student.

DROP-IN LESSONS

  • Marisa loves to do occasional work with former students or those looking for coaching or a vocal diagnosis/direction. Please contact me directly, Click Here, and we will book a lesson time: daytime Mon & Wed can be arranged. Weekends and evenings are not possible. Fee is $90/hour.
  • WHEN: Lessons are 50 minutes long starting on the hour and are available on Monday & Wednesdays early afternoon.

SUMMER LESSONS July & August

  • When? Lessons are 50 minutes long starting on the hour and are available on July 31 & Aug 7,19,21
  • Where? West Point Grey United Church: 4595 West 8th Ave, Vancouver BC.
  • Summer Lesson Fee is $80 lesson (includes gst)
  • Private or 'Duet' lessons (2 students/per hour - for VBCC Choristers only: please see below) are available.

HOW TO BOOK SUMMER LESSONS

  • Marisa is either in rehearsal or teaching much of the time & does not take calls etc while working: booking online is hence easier and more efficient for all of us.
